The basic idea for the mod came from another mod for Jedi Academy, called "Movie Battles II". Star Wars: The New Era will allow players to experience the epic conflicts of the Star Wars universe in two popular time periods: The Clone Wars as well as the Galactic Civil War. The focus of the mod is on trying to capture the atmosphere and beauty of various key locations of Star Wars, as well as creating a unique multiplayer experience through tactical, objective-based gameplay with a wide variety of gameplay options and player classes. Star Wars: The New Era ("TNE") is a total conversion of Half-Life 2, currently in development by Invision Games team.
